Bumboing

We are making great progress at home with the twins. They are great at tummy time and can both lift their heads and turn side to side (although this does seem to tire them out). Our Bumbo seats made an apperance and they were a hit, of course they only have the strength for a limited amount of "bumboing." They both continue to eat well and we have a checkup this week to see how much they weigh.

Learning Some Tricks!

First time using the carriers.
Will and Lexi hit their 7 week birthday yesterday and we celebrated with a long walk in our neighborhood with Denver showing off beautiful weather.  Their Dad is working nights at the hospital right now, so he joined us for the afternoon walk.  They are both more alert and awake now and are enjoying more toys!
Will ready to eat.

Carseat toys and mobile sound machines added!  Will and Lexi will each reach out to grab the toys and the sound machine quiets any fusses like magic (thanks Shannon!).  This is how we walk when Dad is sleeping after a night shift.

Holter is learning to walk in place beside the stroller.

Talking to Will while holding Lexi.

Baby shades are still a little big--we need to devise a trick to hold them in place to block the CO sunshine until they grow into them!

Our Village

Everyone has heard the expression "it takes a village" to raise children.  William and Lexi (and their parents) are fortunate to have a wonderful village of family and friends who are already sharing many life lessons (and helping hands to feed/burp/change).  Grandma Dev was live-in help for four wonderful weeks and Grandpa Bill was here for some of the time as well.  As we posted earlier, it is great whenever possible to have two people to feed two babies.  Grandma Dev and Grandpa Bill took that to heart and even got up for the 3 am feeding when Dad was working at the hospital overnight.  THANK YOU!!

On that note, the babies made a big move last week.  Rather than feeding them twice overnight (midnight and 4 am), they now sleep two stretches of 5-6 hours.  This means we now feed them at 9 pm, 3 am, and then 8 am--we are thrilled with this new schedule!

Last week, we had a photographer come take newborn pictures of William and Lexi.  The adorable owl hats are a gift handcrafted by Aunt Liz!  The great pictures above are a few from the shoot--more to come!

Now, lots of pictures since we haven't posted in awhile:

Doctor Visit

William and Lexi had their one month doctor visit today and both babies have done a great job growing!  William now weighs 7 lbs. 10 oz (last visit 14 days ago 5 lb. 15 oz) and Lexi weighs 6 lbs. 11.5 oz (last visit 5 lbs. 2 oz).  Lexi also graduated from her oxygen, so we are all enjoying her new look.  We know their progress is a tribute to all the love and support our families and friends have shown and for that we are all so grateful!
